PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION
Thank you for booking a photography session with me - now the fun begins! Let's prepare for a successful photography session. I like to keep things as easy, simple, and fun as possible. I hope you find this guide helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to seeing you soon!
THE PERFECT COLOR PALETTE
For the perfect light & airy photos, the right color palette matters. I recommend dressing most of the family in neutral shades (i.e. ivory, gray, beige) and then add a few pops of coordinating color in a muted or pastel shade. You can use the sample color palette below to select from colors that work well with the light & airy photographic style that I shoot and edit in. Of course, these are just recommendations. Please dress in what makes you feel best!
START WITH ONE PERSON
It is much easier to visualize everyone's outfits once you know what one piece looks like! Try starting with mom or daughter, since women's clothing tends to have more texture and prints, and go from there.
SAY YES TO
- Comfortable clothes and shoes
- Subtle textures such as lace and knits
- Neutral Color Schemes
SAY NO TO
- Formal wear (such as gowns and tuxedos)
- Dark, neon, or saturated colors
- Text, graphics, and logos
-Shaded lenses and sunglasses
ON A FINAL NOTE
Dresses in soft, flowing fabrics like cotton, chiffon, and lace with coordinating heels or sandals for the ladies. Khaki or light gray pants, a button-up shirt or pullover sweater, and brown leather shoes work great for men and boys.
I cannot emphasize enough that these are my personal recommendations to help those that would like some direction, but I would love for everyone to dress in what makes you look and feel your best, and true to your personal style.
I can't wait to photograph your family!
